Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026 · for this website (zakapp.org)

What this page covers

This is the privacy policy for the ZakApp marketing website, zakapp.org. The application at app.zakapp.org keeps its own privacy and security documentation, and that is the one to read before you entrust it with anything.

What this website collects

Nothing. There is no account, no form, no cookie, and no analytics on this site. Specifically:

  • No tracking cookies and no analytics or advertising pixels
  • No personal information stored in your browser
  • No third-party scripts, fonts, or stylesheets loaded from another origin
  • No data shared with anyone, because none is collected to share

Third-party services this site uses

None. The page you are reading renders with its own stylesheet and its own font files, served from this domain. It makes no request to any other host while you read it. Open your browser's network panel and you can confirm that — which is the point.

One link on this site — Sustain ZakApp — leads to Ko-fi, which processes donations. That is a link you choose to follow, not a request this site makes. Nothing is loaded from Ko-fi unless you click through, and at that point Ko-fi's own privacy policy applies.

The ZakApp application

ZakApp at app.zakapp.org is a separate thing with separate practices, and it holds data this website never touches. Its privacy policy is published at app.zakapp.org/privacy-policy.

The short version, so you know what to go and verify: the calculation runs in your browser, and your records are encrypted on your device before they sync. The full account is in the application's own policy and, below that, in the source.

Why the source is the backstop

Public code
Every claim on this site and in the application can be read against the repository
Self-hostable
If you would rather not depend on anyone's server, run your own copy of the whole stack
Auditable
Nothing here asks to be taken on trust, including this page

The code is at github.com/slimatic/zakapp, under the AGPL-3.0.

Your choices

  • Use the site without giving anything up — it asks for nothing
  • Read or audit the code before you rely on any claim made here
  • Build and run your own instance if you want to depend on no one

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the diff is visible in the website's own repository history. There is no mailing list to notify you on, because running one would mean collecting an address — which this site does not do.
